When you are building your ePortfolio, you may want to link to an earlier post or page as you reflect on your progress. To do so, follow these steps.
- Create a new page or post and add your content (framing statement or reflection, for example).
- In a new tab (window), open the post or page you want to link. Select and copy the URL.
- Using your dashboard, open the page or post as if you intend to edit it.
- Navigate to your new post or page and select the text you want to link.
- Click “insert,” and choose “link.” Paste the permalink into the field and save by clicking the blue arrow.
- Publish your post and page and test the link.
FYI
Each of your pages and posts has a unique permalink. You will see the field “Permalink” in the editor window. You can edit your post/page permalink, or you may need to copy it using the following method if the post or page is not listed in your primary menu.
- To copy from the editor window, select the link by putting your cursor at the beginning. Hover until you see the “I bar” cursor (see graphic below), not the hand cursor.
- Copy the permalink (Short cut = CTRL C).
- Navigate to your new post or page and select the text you want to link.
- Click “insert,” and choose “link.” Paste the permalink into the field and save by clicking the blue arrow.
- Publish your post and page and test the link.
